Pros and Cons

The motor of the Delonghi Stand Mixer is incredibly powerful but surprisingly quiet. It has a decent 6 speed settings that allows you to tackle any mix with just the right amount speed. The design and construction of the bowl is very thoughtful, it is narrower and taller in orientation compared to the others, this lets you work with lesser quantities of mix and lets you scale the use of your ingredients–you don’t need a separate mixer for smaller jobs–you will appreciate the narrow/tall construction of the bowl if you need to put in the fridge, it has a small footprint so it doesn’t hog your fridge real estate. The bowl is well coated with non-stick, that saves money for you, you don’t need the aerosol sprays. The dough hook too is non-stick so that the kneading becomes effortless, even the flat beater of the Delonghi Stand Mixer is non-stick, it was designed like so to reduce your beating time.

The Delonghi Stand Mixer is a great product, but like other great products, it’s not perfect. There have been reviews of occasional breakdowns and parts failure, that is not the problem, the problem is how Delonghi customer support handles the issue. While the customer support is courteous and nice, they offer little help when the problem is parts replacement, it is very slow. Some users have reported waiting for weeks on end just for the parts to arrive. Fortunately, the Delonghi Stand Mixer is built sturdily so that chances of a breakdown is small.

If you think that Delonghi is a new comer to the stand mixer business, you would be right, but Delonghi acquired Kenwood sometime ago, and Kenwood is not a newcomer to the business, so you can expect the durability and reliability of the Kenwood brand in the Delonghi Stand Mixer. This mixer is for the serious home chef who prepares dough, batters and mixes in large quantities, it could be a bit too much for the occasional cook.
