Pros and Cons
The KitchenAid classic series is heavy, you cannot tuck it away in a cupboard when not in use then put it back up on top of your kitchen counter every time you will use it, it feels like handling a bowling ball, considering though that it just takes about 10 seconds or so to lift it from the counter top to the cupboard, it’s really not a big deal. If you buy this equipment, you need to find a permanent place for this mixer on your kitchen counter. While the mixing bowl locks securely into place, a bowl handle could have been added for easier handling. Adding ingredients such as flour can be a little tricky when the mixer is running because there is a bit of a gap between the mixing head and the bowl, which is probably why the mixer was built with a pouring shield.
The KitchenAid classic series comes with complete mixing device, whisk, dough hook and beater are all included, they also lock into place in a snap. The instruction manual is very easy to follow, you can use the mixer right away after unpacking it, it also comes with a few sample recipes that you can quickly try out. Apart from the quick recipes to try out, the mixer also comes with instructions which speed to use for what recipe, when to add them and for how long, you don’t have to Google your way into your first homemade bread. The shape, volume of the bowl and the mixing head designs are perfect, you won’t need to scrape the sides of the bowl by hand even if the heads doesn’t touch the sides of the bowl. The KitchenAid classic series comes with a lot of power and versatility, the speed settings works consistently and beautifully with any kind of mix.
All told, the KitchenAid classic series is a must have for serious home chefs, it’s time to graduate from the hand mixers. If you make batches of cookie dough, this will be a very handy equipment in your kitchen. This mixer is also a good gift idea for weddings and other occasions, the newlyweds will surely appreciate this when trying out their first batches of cookies and bread. The KitchenAid classic series is good value for money, the build quality is solid and it feels like it could last forever, you could probably pass it on to your children.
