Pros and Cons

It’s not easy to find faults on the Viking Professional Stand Mixer, even if you try. Well I did, and the only thing I can come up with was that it’s very heavy and bulky, even the packaging is bulky, it came in 3 boxes! The mixer heads or attachment paddles also needed a bit of adjustment so that it clears the bottom of the bowl just about right, but after that has been adjusted, no other tuning or tweaking was necessary. Another little issue you might have is the instruction manual, it’s a little bit confusing when you get to the part where it asks you to remove the beaters in a clock wise manner–it would be clockwise if you were looking down on the unit, so if the beaters won’t come off, try turning it counter clock wise.

The Viking Professional Stand Mixer feels rock solid, it is rock solid! The tough built is not hidden away inside the mixer, the appearance of this mixer screams toughness, durability and brute force. Despite the power, it operates smoothly and has a very quiet motor. The accessories are of high grade and heavy duty stainless steel, that’s why it looks and feels sterile and clean. The mixer has pivot wheels at the back portion of the stand so you can move it back and forth your kitchen countertop with ease.

All told, the Viking Professional Stand Mixer is for professionals. You can also get this mixer if you are a very energetic and enthusiastic home chef or you are always cooking for a large family–get the 7 quart version if that is the case.
